What you're signing
To the Mayor of St. Louis, the Board of Aldermen, and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry:
We stand behind #UNIFYSTL, Brian Rafael Také's season of eleven stunts on one wheel across St. Louis. We want him to finish every mission, and we ask the city to work with him to do it safely:
- Permit the Season One stunts, each with the safety plan it needs.
- Close a section of Forest Park to traffic for supervised late-night riding.
- Welcome Solve the Jump, the physics contest built on the stunts, into St. Louis schools.
We're not asking for money. We're asking for one city, one crowd.
Why I'm doing this
The risk is mine. The win is the city's.
St. Louis is full of people chasing money, and too many kids grow up with nobody to look up to and nothing to aim at. When a life has no purpose, something else fills it. I want to give this city something to aim at.
So I'm going to do eleven things on one wheel that nobody has done here, in front of the whole city, one neighborhood at a time. Every stunt is real, and so is the risk. I'm willing to risk my life to try to turn things around. That's my end of the deal.
Your end is your name. Not a dollar. Every name tells the city that St. Louis wants this done, and done safely. And kids: solve it, don't try it. The physics is yours. The risk is mine.
